Summary: Wakka came to learnt that she was not a girl that could be tied down.
Rikku shone on her friends like the beautiful sunshine of Besaid. Her lips would curl up into a perfect crescent, showing her teeth that combined into a naughty and lively grin. Her spiral eyes were so full of life that looked like no troubles of the world had ever tied her down.
She was free like a bird, always flapping her wings and flying to some place where she could add a new chapter to her life.
Wakka wondered if she would ever settle down.
He had hoped that she would, but she didn’t. He wanted to live forever in a quiet place where he could teach kids to play blitzball and watch the clouds went by everyday. But she was different. She wanted to continue spreading her wings and fly to the endless horizon.
It was not just the issue of finding balance between their different faiths.
When he realized that he could not make her abandon the free sky that she always adores and loved, he let go.
Because the sky was where she belonged.
